FAUX FINISHES

These finishes were historically used to mimic expensive materials such as marble, stone, exotic hardwoods, and semi-precious stones, which added grandeur to interiors in larger houses.  They can look out of place in smaller houses and many of these finishes are today better suited to smaller items of furniture and accessories.  Some however, can also be applied successfully to internal walls and doors.
